• CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers asks boaters to slow down and use extra caution within the Mile Point construction area on the St. Johns River. “We’ve seen some close calls here on the water because people are speeding through the area,” said Corps Construction Project Engineer Mike Lyons, Jacksonville District.
  • Corps to maintain status quo on flows from Lake Okeechobee

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will keep its target flow for the Caloosahatchee Estuary unchanged at 4,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) as measured at Moore Haven Lock & Dam (S-77) located on the southwest side of the lake. The target flow for the St. Lucie Estuary remains at 1,800 cfs as measured at St. Lucie Lock & Dam (S-80) near Stuart.

  • Corps Temporarily Modifies Saylorville and Red Rock Reservoir Water Releases

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, initiated a temporary modification to outflows today at Saylorville and Red Rock reservoirs to preserve flood storage capacity. This also allows the Corps to identify any unknown impacts as it evaluates the modification as a permanent change to the reservoirs’ water control plans.
