    With the possibility of tropical activity in south Florida in the coming days, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District is preparing to respond as needed and providing information to boaters and campers on operational adjustments that will take place at navigation locks and recreation facilities.
  • 2016 Whitewater Releases for Gauley and Russell Fork Rivers

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, has issued the 2016 Whitewater schedule of releases for the Summersville (Gauley River) and John W. Flannagan Lakes (Russell Fork River). The releases are made in conjuction with the normal drawdown of the associated reservoir to its Winter pool. The releases are considered by whitewater enthusiasts who frequent the Gauley and Russell Fork Rivers to be optimal times for whitewater related activities.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District has finalized two critical agreements for ecosystem restoration projects in the Florida Everglades. The project partnership agreements (PPAs) cover the Broward County Water Preserve Areas and Biscayne Bay Coastal Wetlands projects, two Everglades restoration projects that were authorized in the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014.
