Turkey hunt scheduled for youth and disabled hunters at Kanopolis Lake
MARQUETTE, Kan.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake will host its 2nd annual youth and disabled turkey hunt Saturday, April 1, 2017. This event allows hunters self-guided access to public lands managed by the Corps of Engineers including refuge and park areas usually closed to hunting.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will open Reservation Dam, near Wheaton, Minn., Monday, Jan. 23, due to recent warmer weather and higher than normal inflow into Lake Traverse.

Corps operates Sepulveda Dam during storms
Sepulveda Dam is the western-most of the Corps of Engineers’ dams operated by the Los Angeles District in the Los Angeles County Drainage Area flood control system designed to collect flood runoff from the uncontrolled drainage areas upstream, store it temporarily, and release it into the Los Angeles River at a rate that does not exceed the downstream channel capacity.

Corps activates operations center during storm to reduce flood risk
The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District activated its Reservoir Operations Center in anticipation of excessive rainfall from storms across Southern California over the weekend. Staff will monitor rain forecasts, river flows and the amount of water temporarily stored in Corps basins.
