    Temporary Bridge Lane Closures Announced

    HUNTINGTON, W.VA. - The Huntington District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct inspections of three bridges in May that will require temporary lane closures to ensure the safety of the crew and the public.

    17-058 Corps issues FONSI for Section 408 for ODOT bridge-replacement project

    MILTON-FREEWATER, Oregon – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to grant Section 408 permission for the Birch Creek Road Bridge Replacement on the Walla Walla River in Umatilla County, Oregon, about three miles northeast of the City of Milton-Freewater, Oregon.

    Bees wear their lifejackets too! This swarm was located at the New Galena Boat Ramp at Alum Creek Lake. The bees swarm together to protect the queen bee and keep her warm as they build a nest for the season. If you locate a swarm in your area that poses a safety concern you can call your county extension or local bee keeping society to have it safely removed. Do not kill the bees as they are a great pollinator and an important part of our local agriculture

    HIGH LAKE LEVEL RESULTS IN SMALL SPILLWAY DISCHARGE AT CLEARWATER DAM

    PIEDMONT, Mo. – Heavy rains have filled Clearwater Lake and have resulted in a small discharge over the spillway. There is no net change in the total amount of water moving downstream from the dam.

    Corps of Engineers expands regional floodfight in Missouri and Arkansas

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., May 2, 2017 – The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) began Phase II floodfight activities at 7 a.m. on May 2 in the vicinity of Cape Girardeau, Mo., due to high river stages on the Upper Mississippi River. The area of current or possible flooding is located in the Charleston (Missouri) Floodfight Areas on the Upper Mississippi River. The community of Scott City, Mo., and low lying roads in that vicinity may be affected.
