• CORPS DECREASES RELEASES FROM NORFORK DAM SPILLWAY

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Little Rock District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers decreased releases from Norfork Dam to 29,600 cubic feet at 7 a.m. today.
  • Army Corps hosts successful Take Pride in Blue Marsh Day

    Blue Marsh Lake held its 36th annual “Take Pride in Blue Marsh” volunteer work day on April 29, 2017. More than 350 volunteers assisted with picking up ten cubic yards of litter, planted over 5000 seedlings, replaced two bridges on the trail, rehabilitated the visitor center garden into a pollinator display garden, completed five separate trail projects, built ten new tables, painted twenty five picnic tables, spread mulch in numerous gardens and play pits, landscaped the bathhouse and fee booth areas, general spring time cleanup of the park areas and other activities.
  • District Wins USACE Excellence in Contracting Award

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District’s contracting Division was awarded top honors by the USACE Excellence in Contracting Awards Program for fiscal year 2016. The District competed against seven other Districts throughout the country and earned the District/Center of the Year Award for outstanding efforts in meeting contracting milestones and metrics requirements.
  • Mississippi River Lock & Dam 17 Dewatered Enabling Maintenance, Inspections

    Lock and Dam 17, in New Boston, Illinois, closed this winter to undergo a dewatering as part of several maintenance projects performed at District locks from December to March.
  • Update of Flooding at Wappapello Lake, 4-30-17

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Wappapello Lake reports significant rains received in the St. Francis watershed north of Wappapello Lake have caused the upper St. Francis River and Wappapello Lake to rise. As of 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017, the Wappapello Lake level was 382.52 feet relative to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) and rising.
