    HEAVY RAINS FORECASTED FOR WHITE RIVER BASIN LAKES

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers is advising people in flood plains downstream of Beaver, Table Rock, Bull Shoals, and Norfork dams in northern Arkansas and southern Missouri as well as Greer Ferry Lake in central Arkansas to maintain awareness and monitor lake levels and the weather. These lakes’ flood pools are partially full from recent rains and more rain is forecast in coming days.

    Army Corps Announces Public Meetings for the Nassau County Back Bays, NY Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New York District, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), and Nassau County will host two scoping meetings for the Nassau County Back Bays, NY Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study. The meetings are being held pursuant to the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The purpose of the Nassau County Back Bays feasibility study is to investigate potential solutions to coastal storm flood damage along the back bays of Nassau County, NY. This includes but is not limited to municipalities in the Town of Hempstead and Town of Oyster Bay located within southern Nassau County, as well as the City of Long Beach.

    Army Corps to reopen Delaware City Bridge

    DELAWARE CITY, DE (April 26, 2017) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced that it anticipates reopening the Delaware City Bridge (5th street/Rte. 9) on Friday, April 28 2017 barring any weather delays. Additional work in the surrounding area will continue after April 28, but will not impact vehicular traffic.
