    Corps monitoring tropics, maintains flow schedule from Lake O

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District maintains the current flow schedule for water releases from Lake Okeechobee. “We are closely monitoring tropical activity, including multiple storms in the Atlantic, Gulf and Caribbean. If conditions change, we are ready to reevaluate the situation,” said Lt. Col. Jennifer Reynolds, Jacksonville District Deputy Commander for South Florida.

    Army Corps Baltimore District prepares for Florence, and potential for flooding throughout the region

    BALTIMORE - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District’s is tracking Hurricane Florence and working in coordination with federal, state and local emergency management counterparts throughout the region, including particularly in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Washington D.C., and West Virginia, to prepare to respond to the effects of this storm.

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it will waive day use fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches at its recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, Sept. 22.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hosts community meeting for Big Fishweir Creek project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will host a community meeting Thursday, September 20 at Willowbranch Branch Library, 2875 Park St., Jacksonville, Fla. 32205. A poster session/meet and greet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. followed by a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. The public will have an opportunity for comment after the presentation.

    Corps reservoirs prevent 2nd highest flood of record along Kiski River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh, calculates that its recent operation of the district’s Conemaugh River Lake and Loyalhanna Lake dams east of Pittsburgh cut the crest of Kiskiminetas River by 17 feet, preventing the second highest flood of record.
