NR 19-051: State highway over Center Hill Dam closing for maintenance

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 12, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the section of State Highway 141/96 that crosses over Center Hill Dam in Lancaster, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 16-19, 2019 while workers conduct maintenance.

Corps lifts small craft advisory for Arkansas River

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Small-craft advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. While flows have receded, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

City holds groundbreaking for Parkville Bottoms Project

The city of Parkville, Mo., held a groundbreaking for a long anticipated project in the Parkville Bottoms where wetlands will soon be reconstructed to serve as habitat for natural species of plants and animals December 11, 2019. Omaha District 2019 Fiscal Year in Review

It’s been another busy year across the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Omaha District, with many significant accomplishments taking place during 2019. The District closed out the fiscal year Sept. 30 with a $1.4 billion program, one of the largest the district has ever managed, surpassing last year’s total of $1.29 billion. That included more than $61 million in civil works, almost $400 million in military missions, $359 million in special projects and $386 million in environmental missions.
