  • Kanopolis Lake Park to require reservation during summer season

    Marquette, Kan., - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake is converting Riverside Park to a “reservation only” campground beginning with the 2015 summer season from May 15 through Sept. 15. With a total of 25 campsites situated along the Smoky Hill River, Riverside is the smaller of the two U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ campgrounds at Kanopolis Lake.
  • KANOPOLIS LAKE - Special muzzleloader deer hunt scheduled for Kanopolis Lake

    MARQUETTE, Kan.– The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake will host its special muzzleloader deer hunt on Corps of Engineers land on the backside (east) side of the dam. The hunt, a muzzleloader only hunt event, will allow hunters that have a hunter education certificate or valid hunting licenses, to be drawn from a pool of applicants to hunt at the assigned area. Hunters are required to carry a “special hunt” permit issued by the Corps of Engineers and follow all Kansas statutes. Normally, hunting below the dam at Kanopolis Lake is limited to shotgun and archery methods only.
  • KANOPOLIS LAKE - Waterfowl Blind Permit Drawing

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake will be hosting its annual waterfowl blind permit drawing, Saturday September 8, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. The drawing will be conducted at the Kanopolis Lake U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Information Center at 105 Riverside Drive Marquette KS, 67464. The drawing will be at random to determine the order of site selection and permit application. There will be 25 blind sites available. Permit applicants must be at least 12 years of age on the day of the drawing. Two members per household may be allowed to draw.
