    Hunters are reminded of tree stand requirements on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lands at Gavins Point Project. These lands are located in Yankton County, South Dakota; Clay County, South Dakota; Knox County, Nebraska; and Cedar County, Nebraska.
  • Information meeting scheduled to discuss boating restrictions change to Lake Yankton

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Gavins Point Project will be holding an information meeting on Wednesday, August 16 to discuss a proposal to change boating restrictions on Lake Yankton from electric motor only to no wake. The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, 55424 Highway 121, Crofton, NE.
  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed August 7

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., will be closed 8 a.m. through noon on Monday, August 7 to perform maintenance on the spillway. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will not conduct tours at the Gavins Point Powerplant near Yankton, SD from Friday, August 18 through Friday, September 1, 2017.
  • Senior passes sold out at Gavins Point Project

    The America the Beautiful Senior Passes are sold out at Gavins Point Project near Yankton, S.D. The Lewis and Clark Visitor Center is out of the passes, however, they are currently available at Cottonwood and Nebraska Tailwaters campgrounds.
  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed July 19.

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., will be closed 8 a.m. through noon on Wednesday, July 19 to perform maintenance on the spillway. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Annual Gavins Point Project Duck Blind Permit Applications accepted now through August 16

    The 2017 Annual Lewis and Clark Lake Duck Blind Permit application period is now open through August 16, 2017. Applications are available online or may be picked-up in person at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center located at 55245 Highway 121, Crofton, Nebraska.
  • Partial road closure will have limited impact on traffic.

    Maintenance on the street lights across Gavins Point Dam, near Yankton, SD, will cause part of the Crest Road to be closed, but will only have limited impact on traffic. The road will be closed from Monday, June 19 at 8 a.m. through Wednesday, June 21 at 4 p.m. This closure will include overnight hours.

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., will be closed 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 31 through 5 p.m. Thursday, June 1 to perform maintenance on the spillway. This closure will include nighttime hours. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • MRRIC Tours Missouri River, Gavins Point

    At a typical meeting of the Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC), members and visitors generally see a standard conference room complete with name placards, PowerPoint presentations, coffee pots (what’s a conference without coffee?), and microphones. On May 22, however, MRRIC traded those in for a day in the field learning about the workings of a hydroelectric plant and about three threatened and endangered species.
