  • Corps to close North Landing Bridge for repairs

    North Landing Bridge, which spans the Albemarle & Chesapeake Canal in Chesapeake, will temporarily close to vehicular traffic from 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 15 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 17 while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers replaces an underwater electrical cable and makes other electrical and mechanical repairs to the bridge.

    NORFOLK, Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is modifying North Landing Bridge's navigation openings to two a day Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. while ongoing repairs to the bridge are completed. These openings could last up to an hour, and motorists should plan accordingly.
