    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 17, 2017) – Grant Bingham, an electrician at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Cordell Hull Power Plant in Celina, Tenn., is the employee of the month for May 2017.
  • Construction continues on Marysville Ring Levee

    Construction of a small but necessary section of the Marysville Ring Levee is underway and should be completed by mid-August 2017, maintaining momentum on the project to lessen flood risk in the northern California town of Marysville. The current construction was funded at approximately $825,000 and the site is located in the center of a railway intersection known as Binney Junction, adjacent to the Catholic Cemetery of Marysville.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District Survey Team conducted project condition surveys (PCS) for the Alaska District in Southeast Alaska from June 5, 2017 through June 16, 2017, covering the Aurora and Harris harbors in Juneau, and the North Harbor in Petersburg.

He becomes the 65th commander of the famed “Twin Rivers” district in the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division.

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – More public recreation fatalities occur in July than any other month, so the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) asks the recreating public to play it safe while on, in, or near the water because drowning is a leading cause of death this time of year. USACE public recreation fatality statistics show that 88 percent were male, 89 percent were not wearing a life jacket, and 47 percent were swimming in areas not designated as a swimming area.
