  • Corps of Engineers to host meeting on Lock 25 expansion with area residents and community members

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, will host a meeting to provide additional information on the new 1,200-foot lock at Lock and Dam 25. The meeting will be held at Winfield City Hall, 51 Harry's Way, Winfield, Missouri, Oct. 29, from 5-7 p.m. Formal presentations will occur at 5 p.m., after which project team members will be available to provide information, answer questions, and discuss the project with attendees.
  • Public encouraged to submit input on Lower Osage Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study

    Officials will hold two public meetings to solicit formal public input on the environmental analysis and recommendations from the Lower Osage Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study. The meetings, which will be hosted by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will be an opportunity for members of the public to submit written comments regarding the study’s environmental analysis.

    Officials are hosting a public outreach meeting in Brunswick, Missouri, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, to discuss progress on the flood resiliency study near Brunswick. The meeting will be held at the American Legion Hall Post #7 209 W. Broadway St., Brunswick, MO, 65236. It is hosted by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The meeting room is ADA accessible.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced three public scoping meetings will be held on the Morganza to the Gulf (MTG) Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS). The SEIS will evaluate design changes to the authorized MTG project to meet the one percent Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP) Storm Surge Risk Reduction (100-year level of risk reduction).
