    SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (June 28, 2014) – Several hundred “Don’t Muck the Duck” volunteers met at River Bottom Park this morning before moving out to clean up trash and debris from the Duck River in Bedford County. It was the perfect gathering for several U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District employees seeking input for an ongoing Duck River Watershed Assessment.

    MOBILE, Ala. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District invites the public to participate in an important public workshop on the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Bayou Casotte Harbor Channel on July 8, 2014 at the Grand Magnolia Ballroom and Suites in Pascagoula, Mississippi from 5 pm to 7 pm.
  • Columbia River dredging begins

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will start dredging operations in the lower Columbia River in July. The dredging is part of the Corps' annual river maintenance intended to keep the federal navigation channel safe for commercial shipping.
  • 2014 Asian Carp Control Strategy Framework Released

    The Asian Carp Regional Coordinating Committee (ACRCC) announced a coordinated strategy to protect the Great Lakes from silver and bighead carp, building on previous efforts to prevent self-sustaining populations from becoming established in the Great Lakes. The 2014 Asian Carp Control Strategy Framework introduces several new initiatives, including testing and deploying new physical and chemical control tools, constructing a new electric barrier in the Chicago Area Waterway System, and building a project to physically separate the Great Lakes and Mississippi River basins at Eagle Marsh near Fort Wayne, Ind.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to host series of Regulatory Open House events

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will host a series of eight Regulatory Open House events in Florida and the Antilles. The first event will be held Wed., June 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Courtyard Downtown Bradenton, 100 Riverfront Drive, Bradenton, Florida. The event is free and open to the public.
