CHICAGO -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Chicago District will be at the listed career fairs in Spring 2020 actively recruiting for Experienced Professionals (GS 12), Recent Grad (GS 5-12) and Student (GS 3-4) positions in our Chicago, IL office and field locations: Chicago Lock (next to Navy Pier) | Griffith, IN I Great Lakes, IL I Romeoville, IL.
USACE will be recruiting using direct hiring authority for multiple disciplines and grade levels from GS-3 to GS-12. We encourage students, graduates and experienced professionals to stop by at any of the listed Career Fairs below and inquire about career opportunities with the Chicago District.
Student: a person who, (1) is currently enrolled in, and in good academic standing at, a full-time program at an institution of higher education; and (2) is making satisfactory progress towards receipt of a baccalaureate or graduate degree; and (3) has completed at least one year of the program.
- Post-secondary students: Appointed to term appointment of more than 1 year, and may not exceed 4 years (5 CFR 316.301). May be noncompetitively converted to career/career-conditional appointment within 120 days of successful completion of academic program requirements.
Recent Graduate: Those who have completed, within the previous two years, a degree from a qualifying educational institution. Current students who will graduate within 9 months of the closing date of this announcement are also eligible except in the case of a person completing a period of obligated uniformed service of more than four years, awarded date must be not more than 4 years before the date of the appointment.
