• NR 21-03: Closure of Bell Road scheduled at J. Percy Priest Dam

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 11, 2021) – Bell Road is closing at J. Percy Priest Dam from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday between Feb. 22 and March 12, 2021 while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District replaces the fencing on the dam. The roadway will be open on weekends over the duration of the work.
  • Volunteer Recruitment at Mark Twain Lake

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 11, 2021) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that it will raise fees for certain shoreline facilities beginning March 1. The Nashville District Real Estate Office reviews and updates these fees every five years.

    The CIS2 program worked in concert with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Fort Worth District. The district is renovating several floors of U.S. Army North's Building 44 including the installation of Facility Communication Distribution Systems.
  • USACE, Hamburg sign first ever Section 1176 agreement allowing raise of Ditch 6 levee system

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, and the City of Hamburg, Iowa, signed the Section 1176 project agreement Tuesday that will allow for raising the Hamburg Ditch 6 levee eight feet, significantly increasing the flood risk management benefits the levee provides to the city.
  • Life Jacket Loaner Station

    A life jacket is essential gear near or around water and is used for keeping a person afloat.  The Sutton Lake Project received Sea Tow Foundation Life Jackets for the 2020 boating season and built a Life Jacket Loaner Station.  The Sutton Lake Life Jacket Loaner Station was placed at Bee Run beach area to be available to anyone needing a life jacket. 
  • A look back: Clark’s 37 years of service

    Wildlife Biologist and Project Manager Randy Clark retired late last year after serving 37 years of federal service. To celebrate him, we will take a look back at his life and career to recognize him for everything he's done, not just for the Memphis District but also for our nation. Clark first started working for the federal government with the Nashville District in 1978 as a summer hire in the Environmental Analysis Branch. There he worked on Cultural Resources for the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway.
