    USACE, Omaha District seeks input and comments on Draft Master Plan for Gavins Point Dam and Lewis and Clark Lake Project through April 8, 2022; Public Online Webinars Scheduled

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District is seeking public, agency, tribal, and stakeholder comments on the Draft Master Plan and Programmatic Environmental Assessment for Gavins Point Dam and Lewis and Clark Lake through Friday, April 8, 2022.

    USACE Galveston District, to host virtual public meetings for Gulf Intracoastal Waterway Coastal Resilience Study (GIWW-CRS)

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District and its Non Federal Partner (NFP), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will co-host two virtual public meetings, February 14 & 17, to provide information to the public about the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway Coastal Resilience Study (GIWW-CRS) and the Tentatively Selected Plan (TSP), and to give the public an opportunity to officially make comments. These meetings are being conducted virtually, exercising COVID-19 safety precautions for group gatherings as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention.

    Mark Twain Lake Recreation Areas Reopen After Weather Event

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) recreation areas, including boat ramps, day use areas, hunter fishermen access areas, firewood cutting areas, David C. Berti shooting range, Frank Russell archery park, M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center, Project Office and other facilities that are normally open this time of year have reopened as the recent snow is being cleared. Use caution in areas where snow is still present.

    Delayed refill at Corps reservoirs to impact boating, recreation

    Army water managers will delay refilling Cougar and Fall Creek reservoirs and conduct spill operations at Foster Dam as required by the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon’s Willamette Valley injunction because of recent litigation. The delay at Cougar and Fall Creek will impact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (Corps) ability to refill the reservoirs to their normal summer levels, which will impact boating and recreation activities.

    USACE Buffalo District Announces 2022 Operations Schedule for Black Rock Lock

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Buffalo District is announcing the Black Rock Lock operations schedule for the 2022 navigation season. The Black Rock Lock is one of three lock systems operated and maintained by USACE on the U.S. side of the Great Lakes and saw more than 2,600 vessels and 60,000 metric tons of commerce pass through its walls in fiscal year 2021.
