    Army Corps of Engineers waives fees on National Public Lands Day, Sept. 28

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will waive day use fees at its more than 2,400 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day on Sept. 28. On this day, fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches will be waived. Locations in Florida include W.P. Franklin, Ortona and St. Lucie recreation areas.

The area along Jordan Creek is heavily urbanized and includes extensive infrastructure associated with both commercial and industrial areas.     Three Rivers Study, Southeast Arkansas

    A “new start” and funding of $100,000 is needed to complete a 905(b) reconnaissance study of the water resource problems in south-east Arkansas where the Arkansas, Mississippi, and White Rivers converge. The study will determine potential solutions, scope, further federal participation, and identify nonfederal sponsors to provide a comprehensive watershed analysis of basin conditions and alternatives. The study is authorized by Section 216 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1970.
