NR 14-001: Public workshops for Old Hickory Lake’s Shoreline Management Plan update scheduled this week

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 13, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District at Old Hickory Lake is holding two Shoreline Management Plan Update public workshops this week. The first is Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gallatin High School in Gallatin, Tenn. The second is Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mt. Juliet High School in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.

Corps of Engineers assisting Tribal communities ahead of coastal storm

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, activated its Emergency Operations center Jan. 9 and has sent three teams to assist coastal tribal communities with flood protection measures before a storm hits overnight and coincides with high tide Saturday morning.

Big Cliff boat ramp to remain closed to vehicle traffic

The Big Cliff Reservoir boat ramp will remain permanently closed to vehicular traffic. Walk-in portage of boats is still allowed, and boat trailer access to Detroit Lake and the North Santiam River is available at many points within just a few miles of Big Cliff and Detroit dams.
