14-018 Dworshak to increase discharge Saturday in anticipation of additional inflows

AHSAHKA, Idaho – Discharge flows from Dworshak Dam will be increased on Saturday from approximately 17,000 c.f.s. (cubic feet per second) to about 20,000 c.f.s. to make room for anticipated inflows resulting from additional rainfall and snowmelt in the Clearwater sub-basin, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water-management officials.

Omaha District Emergency Managers hold annual flood fight training

Omaha District Emergency Management Office held its annual Flood Fight training on February 27 for non-federal levee sponsors in the PL 84-99 program, and State and County Emergency Managers near Omaha, Neb. Training topics included PL 84-99 authorities, how to request assistance, flood fighting, post-flood regulatory and permitting processes, flood outlook, levee safety action classification and the Silver Jackets program.

CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.
