Norfolk District schedules 30-minute closure at Deep Creek Bridge Wednesday
The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close the Deep Creek Bridge here to traffic early Wednesday morning, July 27, 2016 from 5:30 to 6 a.m. During that time, contractors will replace a portion of the wood bridge railing that was damaged by a vehicle.

16-054 Chestnut Recreation Area construction completed; reopens early
CLARKSTON, Wash. – The Chestnut Recreation Area will reopen to visitors Wednesday, July 27 -- about three weeks earlier than originally scheduled, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at the Lower Granite Natural Resource Management Office in Clarkston announced today.

Local teachers develop STEM curriculum through Corps externships
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 26, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is committed to supporting science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs in partnership with local educators. Three Stratford STEM Magnet High School teachers recently participated in an externship at the Nashville District Headquarters and at Old Hickory Dam that will help them develop project-based curriculum and facilitate applied learning.

Bluestone Dam to Host “Safety on the Blue” Water Safety Event on Aug. 7
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Safety on the Blue Committee will host the 12th Annual “Safety on the Blue” celebration to promote water safety at Bluestone Lake on Aug. 7, 2016. Registration begins at noon. and the program begins at 1 p.m and concludes at 4 p.m. This year’s event will be held at Bellepoint Park.
