    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is increasing the water outflow from Lake Darling, northwest of Minot, North Dakota, ahead of the spring snowmelt.
  • 17-036 Corps invites comments on draft FONSI for Tetonia Water System Improvements Project

    TETONIA, Idaho – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District invites public comments on a draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Tetonia, Idaho, Water System Improvements Project. Comments are due to the Corps no later than Friday, April 21, 2017. The Corps proposes to assist the City of Tetonia, Idaho, with upgrades to their municipal water system. The City’s full proposed action includes construction of a new secondary well, new well house, pump controls, equipment and generator, and new storage tank. The City also plans to service existing distribution lines, install additional distribution lines, install freeze protection for shallow lines, and add or install a total of 27 fire hydrants. All actions would take place within the City.
  • USACE Galveston District awards $8.9 million contract for Houston - Galveston channel dredging

    GALVESTON, Texas (March 23, 2017) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $8,921,000 to Manson Construction Co., for routine maintenance dredging of the Houston-Galveston Entrance Channel and Houston Ship Channel main channel. Contract options in the amount of $4,704,000 are anticipated to be awarded to perform additional maintenance dredging within the Houston-Galveston Entrance Channel and the Galveston Inner Harbor Channel.
  • HIGHWAY 25 BRIDGE ACROSS GREERS FERRY DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will close both lanes of Highway 25 across Greers Ferry Dam from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. April 15 and 16, weather permitting, to install equipment needed to refurbish the tainter gates. However, one lane will open each night from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Alternative route will be Highways 16 and 92 around the west side of the lake.

  • Army Corps of Engineers flood teams completing emergency repairs, monitoring levees

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood teams remain deployed to the St. Joe River, Coeur d' Alene River and Kootenai River basins. A flood team is continuing work to stabilize the federal levee and has concluded construction at the Shepherd Road levee in the City of St. Maries, Idaho.
