  • Coralville Lake Bald Eagle Watch & Expo

    IOWA CITY, IOWA – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake will host the fourth annual Bald Eagle Watch and Expo on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at North Central Junior High, 180 E. Forevergreen Road, North Liberty, Iowa. Outdoor eagle watching will be available at Coralville Lake below the dam at Tailwater West. Co-hosts for the event are the Iowa City Bird Club, Iowa Audubon and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Diversity Program. This event is free to the public and will be held at the two different locations simultaneously.

  • FALLING LAKE LEVELS PROMPT CORPS TO URGE CAUTION

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Officials of the Army Corps of Engineers urge boaters, dock owners and visitors at its White River Basin lakes to take extra safety measures because of low lake levels. Cold weather has fueled demand for hydroelectricity from five Corps dams in the basin. Below normal rainfall has reduced inflow into the lakes which has led to low lake levels.
  • Public scoping meeting scheduled for Big Bend Master Plan

    The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public scoping meeting on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Big Bend Project Office, 33573 N Shore Road, Fort Thompson, South Dakota 57325 to gather input on the development of the Big Bend Master plan and the associated Environmental Assessment. Comments must be postmarked or received by March 13, 2017.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to begin removing roughly 1 million cubic yards of material from Baltimore Harbor channels

    Crews under contract of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, are mobilizing to dredge an estimated roughly 1 million cubic yards of material from the Baltimore Harbor and Channels navigation project via a $14.1 million contract awarded this past fall.
  • Officials, administrators invited to Corps flood action plan workshops

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is inviting city and county officials and administrators to a workshop in order to develop emergency action plans for local cities and counties. The workshops will be held, at no charge, Feb. 14, 15 and 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at three different locations.
