• NR 17-027: Nashville District prepares for remnants of Hurricane Harvey

    NASHVILLE, TENN. (Aug. 31, 2017) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Water Management Center is preparing for heavy rainfall in areas of the lower Cumberland River Basin from remnants of Hurricane Harvey, and is managing the release of water from dams throughout the Cumberland Basin to reduce flood risk.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites volunteers to celebrate National Public Lands Day by planting trees and shrubs at Schwarz Campground below Dorena Dam, Saturday, Sept. 30. The event supports the nation’s largest single-day volunteer restoration effort for America’s public lands. Scouts, youth groups, civic clubs, families and individuals are encouraged to participate in the event.

    CELINA, Tenn. (Sept 8, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Dale Hollow Dam Road at the dam in Celina, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 20, 2017 while maintenance personnel perform a routine inspection of the bridge.
