    Paul E. Owen, Commander of the Southwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in a ceremony here today. Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, officiated at the ceremony.

  • Cougar Dam Road closure extended

    The road over Cougar Dam and Reservoir, located on the South Fork of the McKenzie River, will remain closed due to construction and a geotechnical investigation through the end of February 2018. The west side of Cougar Reservoir and access to Terwilliger Hot Springs from Forest Service Road 19, about 3 miles south of the dam, remains blocked due to rockfall.

  • ONE LANE OF HIGHWAY 177 BRIDGE ACROSS NORFORK DAM REMAINS TEMPORARILY CLOSED

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will keep one lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Dam closed through Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. The temporary lane closure was scheduled to end Jan. 25, but due to unforeseen events and some severe weather, the closure must be extended to facilitate repairs to a damaged concrete parapet wall.
