    Corps to survey silting along the West Fork of the San Jacinto River

    HOUSTON (April 10, 2017) –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District began surveying levels of sediment deposits last weekend within the West Fork of the San Jacinto River in response to a State of Texas and FEMA request.

    Master Planning Brings Order to Contingency Base Planning

    USACE’s Middle East District (MED) reached out to the Fort Worth District for master planning support. An agreement was formalized in 2016 and the first planning conference focused on CENTCOM recently took place at the Middle East District in Winchester, Virginia. In attendance were representatives from MED, the Fort Worth District and U.S. Army Central.

    Army Corps begins dredging 2.5 million cubic yards of material from Baltimore Harbor approach channel in VA waters

    Crews under contract of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, began work last night to dredge approximately 2.5 million cubic yards of material from the Cape Henry Channel at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay where shipping vessels enter the Bay en route to the Port of Baltimore.

    CORPS TO CLOSE TOAD SUCK LOCK DURING MAINTENANCE

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers will close Toad Suck Lock, near Conway, Ark. beginning at 7 a.m. April 11 through 7 a.m. April 14. During the closure maintenance will be conducted on the lock’s electrical controls.

    NR 18-009: Public invited for Cordell Hull Dam Powerhouse tour on Cumberland River

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2018) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District invites the public for a free tour of Cordell Hull Dam Hydropower Plant in Carthage, Tenn. Free tours for the general public are Saturday, May 19; and Saturday, June 9. Tours of the facility are limited to 45 persons and each tour begins at 9 a.m. Central Time. Pre-registration is required for all tour guests, including minors. The deadline to register is seven business days prior to scheduled tour. Personal information collected during sign-up is used for security background checks.
