Whether you enjoy fishing, camping, boating, bike riding or other outdoor activities, Carlyle Lake offers an abundance of recreation opportunities. While participating in water related recreation activities, always wear your life jacket. Over two-thirds of individuals who drown never had any intention of being in the water.

  • CORPS CLOSES BIDWELL POINT SWIM BEACH ON NORFORK LAKE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Mountain Home Project Office has closed Bidwell Point swim beach on Norfork Lake until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.

  • Corps provides water safety tips for Memorial Day weekend

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Water is one of the premier destinations for Memorial Day weekend and with that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District’s 18 lakes see a huge spike in visitation. Before heading out on or near the water this holiday weekend, we encourage visitors to expect the unexpected and think about these four safety tips this Memorial Day weekend.
  • USACE increases releases from Fort Peck and Garrison Dams

    Releases from Fort Peck and Garrison Dams were increased due to high inflows from rapidly melting mountain snowpack. Garrison Dam releases were stepped up from 37,000 cfs in early May to 39,000 cfs by May 23. Fort Peck Dam releases were gradually increased from 14,000 cfs in mid-May to 17,000 cfs by May 22. The Fort Peck Dam release is higher than the maximum powerhouse release, so releases are being made from both the powerhouse and spillway. Releases from Fort Peck and Garrison are expected to remain at these rates into the summer.

  • 18-050 Walla Walla District receives $3.3M supplemental funding for rehabilitation of flood-damaged levees

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Four levees damaged during the 2017 flood season, located within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District area of operations, received a total of approximately $3.3 million in cumulative funding for flood-related repairs under Public Law 115-123, the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, signed into law February 9, 2018.

    ASHDOWN, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Millwood Tri-Lakes Project Office announces that Jefferson Ridge Park East Swim Beach on Dierks Lake have been retested and officials have determined that it is safe for public use.
