Corps transitions to lower flows from Lake Okeechobee

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District will transition to lower flows from Lake Okeechobee to the estuaries, starting Friday, October 5. “Drier conditions have meant we’ve been able to move water off the lake, and make it possible to reduce flows to the estuaries,” said Lt. Col. Jennifer Reynolds, Jacksonville District Deputy Commander for South Florida. “That includes a zero flow target for the St. Lucie, and a gradual transition down to 1,000 cubic feet per second for the Caloosahatchee over the next three weeks.”

USACE committed to Fort Worth flood risk management solutions

The Trinity River Vision/Central City project is a joint partnership between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Tarrant Regional Water District. Other partners include Tarrant County, the City of Fort Worth, Streams and Valleys, Federal Highway Administration, and the Texas Department of Transportation. New England District moves forward with plans for new headquarters at Hanscom Air Force Base

Although still in the very early planning stages, the New England District is moving forward with its plan to move to Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts. The District is currently headquartered in Concord, Massachusetts, not far from the base. The District moved from the dilapidated Waltham Federal Center to Concord Park on March 16, 1998.
