    18-084 Dworshak water releases to fluctuate during flow-augmentation operations

    AHSAHKA, Idaho -- Dworshak Dam discharge flows will fluctuate between 5,000 cfs and 13,000 cfs throughout the remainder of the summer season to provide cold water from Dworshak Reservoir on the North Fork of the Clearwater River, reducing downstream river water temperatures for migrating salmon and steelhead, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water-management officials at the Walla Walla District.

    Washington (August 7, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) today released a memorandum taking initial steps to empower States and tribes in assuming Section 404 permit authority under the Clean Water Act (CWA). In taking on this authority, States and tribes can accelerate job-creating economic development and infrastructure, all while continuing to protect the environment.

(Aug. 7, 2018) — An alliance of state, federal and non-governmental partners are sponsoring a free public workshop 9:30 a.m. to noon central time Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at the Leslie Town Center in Cookeville, Tenn., to show participants how to develop their own small businesses to sell heat-treated firewood to fill increasing demand at campgrounds in Tennessee and Kentucky.
