  • Dewey Short Visitor Center Announces August Programs

    BRANSON, Mo. -- Dewey Short Visitor Center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located just south of Table Rock Dam on State Highway 165. The visitor center offers interactive displays, a 22 minute movie about the purpose and construction of the dam, and viewing decks overlooking Table Rock Lake and Dam. Picnic facilities and a 2.2 mile asphalt surface trail are located on the visitor center grounds. Park rangers will be offering the following interpretive programs and events at Dewey Short Visitor Center during the month of August. All programs are free of charge and no registration is required.

    ROGERS, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office is releasing about 5,170 cubic feet per second of water through a Beaver Dam conduit while hydropower generators are off-line. The release will last about an hour.

    Baltimore District awarded an emergency contract Monday, July 30 in the amount of $357,846 to Cromedy Construction Corp., a small business headquartered out of Philadelphia, for work to repair the area of channel wall that collapsed along Codorus Creek July 26.

    LAWRENCE, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake announce the application opening for the annual Special Archery Hunt at Bloomington, Rockhaven and Woodridge parks. Applications are due to the Clinton Lake Visitor Center by Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 by 4 p.m. The Special Archery Hunt will be held Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, 2018.
