• Cuerpo de Ingenieros anuncia procedimientos para permisos de emergencia

    El Distrito de Jacksonville del Cuerpo de Ingenieros del Ejército de EE. UU., (USACE por sus siglas en inglés), anunció procedimientos de permisos alternativos/de emergencia en respuesta a las condiciones resultantes por la actividad sísmica en Puerto Rico. Estos procedimientos alternativos serán efectivos por un período de seis meses, hasta el 22 de julio de 2020.

  • Chittenden Locks large chamber closes February 12- April 4, small lock available

    The large lock chamber at the Chittenden Locks in Ballard will close to all vessel traffic 5:30 a.m. February 12 to replace the chamber’s filling culvert valves. It will remain closed for up to 53 days, with a scheduled reopening April 4. The small chamber will remain open during this time and vessels up to 28-feet wide by 123-feet long are able to use it.

  • Tuttle Creek Lake announces stilling basin water drawdown for construction

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake wants patrons to know that construction associated with the Stilling Basin Rehabilitation project downstream of the dam, locally known as the tubes, has resumed. The first stages of work for this construction will affect the lake level in the short term as well as areas below the dam around the stilling basin and downstream river pond area. The contractor will perform partial removal and repair of the final concrete basin wall section. To facilitate this repair work, the water will be drawn down in the stilling basin by opening the water control gate at the Rocky Ford Dam, which is downstream of Tuttle Creek Dam, allowing the river pond area and river channel between the two dams to be lowered several feet.
  • Army Corps flood fight teams mobilized as several rivers predicted to exceed flood stage

    The Emergency Operations Center at the Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is activated until further notice as flood teams have been mobilized for the Skagit and Nooksack river basins in western Washington.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers San Francisco District will host a series of public meetings to receive input intended to help shape development of the Master Plan for the Bay Model Visitor Center in Sausalito, Calif. The public meetings will take place Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., at the Bay Model Visitor Center located at 2100 Bridgeway.
