• Fall Opportunities at Carlyle Lake

    CARLYLE LAKE – Fall is a beautiful time to enjoy the outdoors! Carlyle Lake’s fall opportunities will keep you busy the entire season! Enjoy the cool fall temperatures with family and friends while roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over a crackling campfire. Carlyle Lake offers opportunities at several campgrounds that stay open for fall camping. Dam West and McNair Campgrounds will be open through 12 p.m. Monday, November 2nd 2020. Boulder Campground has been extended until 12 p.m. Monday, November 2nd 2020 to help create more camping opportunities since camping has been a popular activity during the COVID 19 pandemic. Dam East and Hazlet State Park Campgrounds are open year round.

  • USACE reactivates Blue Roof program for homes damaged by Hurricanes Laura/Delta

    USACE is continuing to install blue roofs on homes damaged by Hurricane Laura. However, if you had a Hurricane Laura temporary blue roof installed by the USACE in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and Vernon parishes, and it was damaged by Hurricane Delta, the USACE will assess its condition, and, if appropriate, replace it. ALL eligible homeowners within the six affected parishes are eligible to sign-up for a FREE temporary roof through Oct. 24, 2020.

  • Remembering our Memphis District brothers and sister

    Members of the Memphis District gathered for a memorial yesterday morning at the Clifford-Davis Odell Horton Federal Building to honor and remember seven teammates, who to many of us were family, that we unfortunately lost over the last year. An additional ceremony was held later in the day at the Ensley Engineer Yard to dedicate a newly planted tree to those seven fallen teammates. The tree was planted to replace the first commemorative tree, dedicated to all deceased U.S. Army Corps of Engineers members who had served proudly. That tree had 'lived it's given life' and was unfortunately uprooted during a strong storm in years past.

    Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, Chief of Engineers, visited New York District October 5-6 and observed the District’s civil works projects and facilities.
  • Corps of Engineers to begin Keystone Harbor maintenance dredging October 12

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin maintenance dredging in the Federal navigation channel at Keystone Harbor. The contractor, American Construction, will start dredging Oct. 12 and continue for approximately nine weeks.
  • USACE West Point Lake to Temporarily Close Project Areas for Army Training Exercise

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake will temporarily close several areas of the project to public access when it hosts a training exercise for the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment from Fort Benning, Georgia on October 14, 2020.
