    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia District Engineering and Emergency Management teams and District Commander Lt. Col. David Park met with officials from the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management/State Police on March 22, 2020 to discuss the ongoing mission to provide initial planning and engineering support to address possible medical facility shortages in the state as part of the #COVID-19 response.

    USACE Philadelphia District supporting response to COVID-19 public health emergency

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District is providing initial planning and engineering support for the States of New Jersey and Delaware to address possible medical facility shortages due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The mission, in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the two states, is part of a nationwide federal, state and local effort to respond to the public health emergency.

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The recreation area at the Greenup Locks and Dam in Greenup, Ky., has been closed to the public because of construction on the access road to the parking lot.

    The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $1.6 million contract to SumCo Eco-Contracting, LLC of Peabody Massachusetts to perform maintenance dredging on Waterway of Coastal Virginia Bradford Bay Channel.

    As the nation continues to confront the challenges of COVID-19, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District has closed our offices in the William S. Moorhead Federal Building in downtown Pittsburgh until further notice.

  • RAYSTOWN LAKE, Pa. —The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, has closed or delayed the opening of Corps-owned and managed recreation sites indefinitely, effective immediately, due to the concern for public health and safety of its employees and the visiting public during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the plan is to keep day-use facilities and lake access areas open, such as boat launches, picnic areas, fishing piers, and viewing areas. These areas are, however, subject to evolving COVID-19 conditions and may need to eventually close at specific sites.

    RAYSTOWN LAKE, Pa. —The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, has closed or delayed the opening of Corps-owned and managed recreation sites indefinitely, effective immediately, due to the concern for public health and safety of its employees and the visiting public during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense-Acquisitions and Sustainment released a memo today regarding class justifications for procurements. Effective immediately, for procurements valued at $100 million or less, contracting officers are not required to execute a justification and obtain approval for award of a sole source contract under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program.

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.  – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Albuquerque District has announced changes to lake operations in New Mexico and Colorado amid health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective today, USACE-Albuquerque District is taking measures throughout its lake offices to reduce risk to guests, volunteers and personnel.
