TF Power NYC Public Housing, Soldiers from the 249th EN BN. Far Rocaway/Queens, NC--SACE is aggressively supporting emergency temporary power missions in New York and New Jersey. USACE has teams deployed to strategic locations in NY, NJ, PA and WV, and has resources in place to haul, install, operate and maintain generators at critical facilities. 189 Installations have been completed. At peak capacity, USACE generated 55MW of power, enough to support the power needs of 50,000 families. Additionally, we have sent power experts and generators to support NY Public Housing, the Hoboken High Rise Complex, the Kinder Morgan Petroleum Terminal and Hoboken Terminal. USACE has deployed temporary emergency power assets - Planning and Response Teams, the 249th Engineer Battalion, Emergency Command and Control Vehicles/Deployable Tactical Operating Systems (ECCV/DTOS), Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) to provide support to areas impacted by post-tropical storm Sandy.
