  • Perry Lake swim beach closed for 2018 season

    PERRY, KAN. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake announce that the public swim beach will be closed for public safety due to ongoing recreation upgrades. Once the improvements to the swim beach are complete, visitors will enjoy new outdoor wash stations and a new restroom. In addition to the recreation upgrades, the Corps is working to stabilize the beach shoreline and adding a retaining wall.
  • Corps of Engineers to perform dewatering and dam inspection at Clinton Lake

    LAWRENCE, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake will dewater the lake’s water control structures to perform a dam safety inspection from Apr. 17 through Apr. 24, 2018. For the safety of the public and lake personnel, access to the outlet channel and immediate area will be closed during this time.
  • NR 18-009: Public invited for Cordell Hull Dam Powerhouse tour on Cumberland River

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2018) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District invites the public for a free tour of Cordell Hull Dam Hydropower Plant in Carthage, Tenn. Free tours for the general public are Saturday, May 19; and Saturday, June 9. Tours of the facility are limited to 45 persons and each tour begins at 9 a.m. Central Time. Pre-registration is required for all tour guests, including minors. The deadline to register is seven business days prior to scheduled tour. Personal information collected during sign-up is used for security background checks.
  • Army Corps to host annual Take Pride in Blue Marsh Day

    LEESPORT, PA – Blue Marsh Lake will be holding its 36th annual “Take Pride in Blue Marsh” volunteer work program on April 21st, 2018. Various projects for the day include: litter pickup, seedling planting, trail work, wildlife habitat improvement, table painting, trail improvements, landscaping and other projects. Friends, family and organizations are invited to join the project staff for a day in the great outdoors.

  • Nashville District celebrating its 130th Anniversary in 2018

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 18, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is celebrating its 130th anniversary in 2018. The Nashville District formed from the Chattanooga District to construct a series of locks and dams on the Cumberland River. Army Special Order 191 created the district Aug. 18, 1888, and Lt. Col. John W. Barlow took command.
  • Baltimore District provides funding outlook for projects

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, has announced the list of projects that will receive funding this fiscal year, as outlined in the fiscal 2017 work plan for the Army Civil Works program released May 24. Baltimore District is also sharing the projects included in the fiscal 2018 President’s Budget for Civil Works released May 23.
