NOTICE OF PUBLIC SCOPING MEETING

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District (USACE) and the West Tennessee River Basin Authority (WTRBA) will host a general scoping meeting to solicit comments and information from the public regarding the Running Reelfoot Bayou, TN feasibility study. The study investigates National Ecosystem Restoration benefits related to restoring aquatic and floodplain habitat along the Running Reelfoot Bayou in Lake, Obion, and Dyer Counties, Tennessee. The meeting will be held on Thursday April 21, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Lake County Circuit Court in Tiptonville, TN.

Missouri River Committee seeks input on charter amendments

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division, on behalf of the Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee, referred to at MRRIC, seeks input to proposed amendments to its charter. The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee reached tentative consensus on the following proposed amendment to its Charter, originally approved on July 1, 2008. The draft amendments were posted to the MRRIC website on Jan. 12, 2022. Comments must be submitted not later than Feb. 12, 2022.

Public notice for permit application for compensatory mitigation bank near Bozeman, Montana

Missoula, Mont. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is evaluating a request by the Sacajawea Audubon Society to review the feasibility of a new compensatory mitigation bank, known as the Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve on the east side of the City of Bozeman, Montana. The prospectus is the first phase of mitigation bank evaluation. It is intended to determine whether the site has enough potential to warrant development of a more detailed Mitigation Banking Instrument. This notice is to inform interested parties of the proposed activity and to solicit public comments.

Draft environmental impact statement for Fort Peck Dam test releases available for public review

OMAHA, Neb. – In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has prepared a draft environmental impact statement for proposed test releases from Fort Peck Dam, Montana for the benefit of federally endangered pallid sturgeon.

Comments sought for development of the Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion Environmental Impact Statement

CPRA has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for permits and permission to construct, maintain and operate the Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion project on the east bank of the Mississippi River near Willis Point in Plaquemines Parish. In compliance with NEPA, the Corps will prepare an EIS to inform its permitting decisions. As part of this process, the Corps is seeking public comment to assist in determining the scope of issues, resources, impacts and alternatives to be addressed in the document. Comments will be collected until August 16, 2020.

USACE Galveston District publishes Intent to prepare Environmental Impact Statement and to hold Public Scoping Meeting for Dow Chemical Company’s Harris Reservoir Expansion Project

GALVESTON, Texas –On April 7, The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District published a notice of intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Dow Chemical Company’s proposed Harris Reservoir Expansion Project. To ensure that all of the issues related to this proposed project are addressed, the Corps will conduct public scoping meetings, at which agencies, organizations, and members of the general public present comments or suggestions with regard to the range of actions, alternatives, and potential impacts to be considered in the EIS.
