  • New South Pacific Commander Visits Albuquerque District

    The Albuquerque District was honored to host the new Commander of the South Pacific Division, Col. C. David Turner, July 29-31, 2013. The purpose of this visit was for Col. Turner to meet members of the Albuquerque team, stakeholders and partners, and familiarize himself with the unique mission and projects of the District.

  • Corps’ proactive safety stance helps prevent mishaps

    The District employs six safety and occupational health specialists, and one wellness coordinator, to cover its widespread area of operations. These employees keep tabs on myriad projects, like military and civil works construction, dredging, and operation and maintenance activities, as well as more routine workplace safety aspects like promoting ergonomic work environments, wellness activities and managing the Army Safety Program requirements.
  • District Achieves another First for Tribal Program

    In the first meeting of its kind, Robert Isenberg and Maj. Seth Wacker, members of the South Pacific Division’s 59th Forward Engineering Support Team - Advanced (FEST) joined District Tribal Liaison Ron Kneebone in a visit with representatives of two New Mexico Pueblos Dec. 14 and 15. They met with the Pueblo of Santa Clara and the Pueblo de Cochiti to provide the Native American tribes with critically needed engineering support to address local infrastructure issues and to provide FEST members with real-world training.
  • District Leadership Convenes to Refresh the O-Plan

    To help ensure long-term success, a group of nearly 70 people gathered together Oct. 27-29 to refine and update the District’s Operations Plan, or O-Plan, as well as align the plan with the Division’s Implementation Plan and USACE’s Campaign Plan.
