  • USACE to host open house for Blue Marsh Lake Master Plan revision

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will host an open house on March 23, 2023, to kick off a process to revise the 1975 Blue Marsh Lake Master Plan. The open house will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Berks County Agricultural Center, 1238 County Welfare Road, Leesport, PA 19533.
  • Blue Marsh Lake Shoreline Projects to Begin with Temporary Closures within Day Use Area

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Blue Marsh Lake, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and the Berks County Conservation District have partnered together to restore multiple sections of degraded shoreline, improve shoreline fishing opportunities, and install a variety of in-water habitat structures throughout the next year.
  • Army Corps announces traffic and recreational changes at Blue Marsh Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be implementing changes to traffic, parking, and recreational operations at the boat launches operated by USACE Blue Marsh Lake. The modifications to parking and recreational activities will help resolve ongoing congestion issues and ultimately improve visitor safety and experiences. 
  • Army Corps of Engineers requires face masks at Blue Marsh Lake

    As the nation works to slow the spread of COVID-19, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds all visitors, volunteers, and employees that a face mask is required to be worn at all Blue Marsh Lake facilities. Masks must always be worn when entering any building including the Visitor Center, comfort stations, and administration buildings. Masks must be worn outdoors on Blue Marsh Lake property and recreation areas if physical distancing cannot be met, such as when hiking on trails or visiting sites that may be popular or crowded.
  • Blue Marsh Lake Swimming Beach to Open; Restrictions in Place for Holiday Weekend

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced the swimming beach at Blue Marsh Lake will open to the public on July 2, 2020. The bathhouse and shower facilities at the beach will also open. Visitation in the Dry Brooks Day Use Area will be limited to 75% capacity. Park Rangers will be monitoring the visitation and closing the area as needed.
  • Volunteers tackle projects during Take Pride in Blue Marsh Day

    Nearly 400 volunteers descended on Blue Marsh Lake in Leesport, Pa. for the 35th annual Take Pride in Blue Marsh Day. Volunteers worked on a variety of projects, including litter clean-up, nature trail maintenance, erosion control projects, wildlife habitat work and tree planting.
