Corps of Engineers to begin critical repairs to Coos Bay North Jetty, closes roads ahead of construction

On Saturday, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Portland District (Corps) contractors will begin making repairs to the Coos Bay North Jetty. Engineers will close access roads to the North Spit marking the start of this three-year, $64 million critical infrastructure improvement project.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Announces Release Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Tier 1 Environmental Impact Statement for NYNJHAT Study

NEW YORK – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New York District announces the public release of a Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Tier 1 Environmental Impact Statement for the New York- New Jersey Harbor and Tributaries coastal storm risk management feasibility study (NYNJHAT Study). The report was completed in cooperation with the non-federal sponsors, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, as well as the study partners, New York Department of State and the New York City Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice.

South Atlantic Coastal Study Final Report Signed

The four-year, $18.4 million, South Atlantic Coastal Study was designed to identify the risks and vulnerabilities of tidally influenced areas to increased hurricane and storm damage as a result of sea level rise. South Atlantic Division (SAD) Commander, Brig. Gen. Jason E. Kelly, signed the Final Report of the South Atlantic Coastal Study during a virtual, online ceremony July 25.

Jacksonville District continues beach placement on Indian Beach Park and Allison Beach segment of Miami Beach shoreline protection project

Jacksonville, Fla. (Aug. 1, 2022) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District, continues work on the Miami Beach Renourishment project that distributes sand placement at the southern end of the Indian Beach Park and Allison Beach. The project started June 13, 2022.

Army Corps starts annual Oceanside dredging

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District began its annual dredging of the Oceanside Harbor inlet starting April 19. Manson Construction Company of Seattle is dredging the channel to its authorized federal depth of 20 feet. Dredging is expected to be completed prior to Memorial Day weekend.

Corps plans Depoe Bay dredging, after environmental assessment

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin dredging Depoe Bay, Ore. to remove 2,000 cubic yards of material between September 13 and the end of the month. The work will take place for seven to 14 days and is an effort, with the City of Depoe Bay, to clean out the sediment catch basin.

North Ponte Vedra Coastal Storm Risk Management Project Feasibility Study funded by Congress

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Jan. 19 that its Jacksonville District will receive a $500,000 congressional allocation under the Fiscal Year 2021 Work Plan for the Army Civil Works to begin a Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Study of North Ponte Vedra Beach, St. Johns County, Fla.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hosts virtual meetings for the Puerto Rico Coastal Study

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District will host two public webinars for the Puerto Rico Coastal Study to present the draft Integrated Feasibility Report, Environmental Assessment, and Proposed Finding of No Significant Impact. The webinars will occur December 10 at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Puerto Rico time (9 a.m. and 3 p.m. EST). Both meetings will be presented simultaneously in English and Spanish. Army Corps awards contract for periodic nourishment of Bethany, South Bethany beaches

PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 21, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District has awarded a contract to Weeks Marine, Inc. for $11.1 million to conduct the periodic nourishment of the Bethany & South Bethany Coastal Storm Risk Management project in Delaware. Work is the result of a partnership between the Army Corps’ Philadelphia District and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
