  • 2022 Mississippi River navigation season closes for the year

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, saw the last barge of the year, the Motor Vessel Ashley Danielson, depart Lock and Dam 2 today at 4:25 a.m., ending the 2022 navigation season on the Upper Mississippi River.
  • St. Louis District Army Corps monitoring low water levels on Mississippi

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, has been monitoring low water levels along the Mississippi River this week. Currently, there are no restrictions in the navigation channel north of Cairo in the district’s area of operations and the authorized depth of nine feet is being maintained with assistance from dredging. 
  • Corps of Engineers awards $5.5 million McGregor Lake stage 2 contract

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $5.5 million contract to Dubuque Barge & Fleeting Service Company doing business as Newt Marine Service, of Dubuque, Iowa, Sept. 20, to begin constructing stage 2 of a habitat restoration project in the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge located near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
  • Relief well installation project substantially complete

    A Memphis District Project Delivery Team recently completed work to construct 25 new relief wells in Scott County, Missouri. To execute the project, a contract for $1,630,303.15 was awarded to VuCon, LLC., in August 2018. The contract was administered by the Memphis District’s Caruthersville Area Office, and the job was declared substantially complete June 24, 2022.
  • Corps to host open house at Lock and Dam 6

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will host an open house at Lock and Dam 6, near Trempealeau, Wisconsin, Saturday, July 9, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in conjunction with Catfish Days.
  • Corps adds additional closure date to Lock and Dam 8 miter gate replacement

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is adding additional navigation closure date to install new miter gates at Lock and Dam 8, in Genoa, Wisconsin.
  • Corps temporarily closes Lock and Dam 5A to nearly 90-year-old gates

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will have four temporary closure periods at Lock and Dam 5A near Fountain City, Wisconsin, from July 19-28, to replace the lock chamber’s miter gates.
  • Industry Day opportunity coming soon for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lock and Dam 25 Winfield, Mo. Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, will host an Industry Day June 15 at the OYO Hotel St. Louis Downtown City Center from 8 a.m. – noon to serve as a networking opportunity for contractors and potential contractors to learn more about the Lock and Dam 25 new 1,200-ft. lock project as part of the Navigation and Ecosystem Sustainability Program. The event will kick off with a formal welcome and introduction by St. Louis District Commander Col. Kevin Golinghorst at 8 a.m. Following opening remarks, officials from the St. Louis District will discuss upcoming contracting opportunities for this expansion project.
  • Corps of Engineers opens Upper St. Anthony Falls gate to reduce flood risk

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is opening the gate at the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam, in Minneapolis, today due to high flows on the Mississippi River.
  • Kaskaskia Eagle Fest

    The 2022 Kaskaskia Eagle Fest event will be held on Saturday, February 5 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Jerry F. Costello Lock & Dam in Modoc, Ill.
