    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 7, 2016) – A group of technical experts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District evaluated a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Expo and staffed an exhibit at the Tennessee State University Gentry Center today.

    As the commander and District Engineer of the Jacksonville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its 800-strong team of scientists, engineers and other professionals, I encourage everyone to celebrate and recognize the important contributions of science, technology, engineering and mathematics professionals during this year’s National Engineers Week — February 19-25.     NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 24, 2016) –Technical experts from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District prepared students for future STEM careers during the “My Future, My Way” Career Exploration Fair at two exhibits sponsored by the Metro Nashville Public schools Academies of Nashville and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce at Music City Convention Center Oct. 27, 2016.

(Sept. 16, 2016) – Corps of Engineers employees shared their experiences and expertise with students today for Science and Engineering Day at Stratford STEM Magnet High School where they received information about careers in hydropower, navigation, natural resources, water management and emergency operations.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded an $8.58 million construction contract July 28 to Macro-Z Technology Company of Santa Ana for the relocation and construction of a U.S. Forest Service administrative building and warehouse in Kernville.

(July 26, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is committed to supporting science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs in partnership with local educators. Three Stratford STEM Magnet High School teachers recently participated in an externship at the Nashville District Headquarters and at Old Hickory Dam that will help them develop project-based curriculum and facilitate applied learning.

  • Corps prepares future student engineers at Summer Engineering Program

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 24, 2016) –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District collaborated with the Tennessee State University College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science Department to mentor science, technology, engineering and math students involved in a four-week National Summer Transportation Institute program on the campus of TSU June 20 through July 1.
