Nashville mayor goes up river to see dam safety project

JAMESTOWN, Ky. (Aug. 7, 2012) – Nashville Mayor Karl Dean visited Wolf Creek Dam today to see the ongoing foundation remediation construction, which is a dam safety project of vital importance to the citizens he represents 270 miles downstream.

NR 12-018: Milestone reached with completion of protective concrete embankment wall at Wolf Creek Dam

JAMESTOWN, Ky. (June 22, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District reached a major milestone here this week at the Wolf Creek Dam Foundation Remediation Project when work crews installed the 433rd and final panel in completing the protective concrete embankment wall. While this wall does not create a water barrier through the dam’s karst limestone foundation, it completes a major stage of construction that is critical to the final stage of construction – the main barrier wall, which is scheduled to be completed by December 2013.

Kendall Annex Campground helps kids to play around

JAMESTOWN, Ky., (Sept. 13, 2011) — Kendall Annex Campground here has been welcoming families since 2006 and is wrapping up its sixth year of operation. For those of you who have not visited the Annex campground recently, it’s getting a new addition to the area! It will soon have playground facilities conveniently located adjacent to the bathhouse and sites 113 and 114.
