Bouys on the horizon: Pittsburgh District installs more buoys to increase warning visibility
The Pittsburgh District added horizontal safety buoys to two locks and dams locations, one on the Ohio and one on the Allegheny River, to increase visibility and warn boaters away from the dams.

Illinois Waterway Visitor Center reopens to public
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, announces the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center at Starved Rock Lock and Dam in Ottawa, Illinois, has reopened to the public. Operating hours are from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. seven days a week.

21-006 Columbia and Snake river navigation locks will close March 6 for annual maintenance
COLUMBIA & SNAKE RIVERS, Ore. & Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Portland and Walla Walla districts will close all Corps navigation locks on the Columbia and Snake rivers March 6 at 6 a.m. for regularly-scheduled annual inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs.

20-035 Revised Master Plan and EA for Lower Monumental and Little Goose open for public comment
SNAKE RIVER, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Walla Walla District, has released drafts of the revised Lower Monumental and Little Goose Project Master Plans, each with an accompanying draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Environmental Assessment (EA). The public comment period will run from July 20 to Aug. 21.
