    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March, 3, 2016) — Every year thousands of people in the United States mourn the loss of loved ones who could have survived if they had been wearing a life jacket while spending time on or near our nation’s waters. To heighten awareness, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently launched a national water safety campaign titled “Life Jackets Worn - Nobody Mourns.”

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – An Independent Expert Peer Review Panel (IEPR) praised the work and diligence of the engineers, contractors, and Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) following an onsite review of the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project site June 20 – July 1. This was the IEPR’s second onsite review since construction of the project began. The first was in January.
  • Corps encourages safe boating during Memorial Day weekend

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District is reminding boaters to wear life jackets while enjoying time with friends and family over the upcoming holiday weekend. “On average, nine out of 10 people who drowned at a USACE lake or river project didn’t wear a life jacket,” said Adam Tarplee, Jacksonville District Natural Resource Program Manager. “Life jackets save lives by keeping you afloat and providing time for rescue.”
