    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, in cooperation with the Flood Diversion Board of Authority will host a meeting Jan. 8 for landowners of the Oxbow, Bakke and Hickson area affected by the proposed Fargo, N.D./Moorhead, Minn., diversion channel.
  • Corps responds to Superstorm Sandy

    Hurricane Sandy was the biggest storm yet of an active tropical storm season. It formed south of Jamaica on Oct. 22, smashed through Cuba Oct. 24-25 and began affecting beaches in Florida by Oct. 26. As it moved further north, concern heighted as it merged with another storm, prior to making landfall near Atlantic City, N.J. Oct. 29. Jacksonville District engineers were on alert from the beginning. The district activated its emergency operations center (EOC) Oct. 24 and closely monitored the storm as it moved through the Bahamas. Once reports started circulating about the full range of impacts in New York and New Jersey, several Jacksonville District team members were tapped for duties in a variety of locations.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 18, 2012) - Before entering the building, engineers Franchelle Craft and Eduardo Irigoyen turn their cell phone ringers off. They make their way to the front desk, sign in as visitors and wait to be escorted to a classroom where they will spend the next two hours interacting with middle school students enrolled in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) courses as volunteers of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District’s “Corps in the Classroom” program.

  • District Achieves another First for Tribal Program

    In the first meeting of its kind, Robert Isenberg and Maj. Seth Wacker, members of the South Pacific Division’s 59th Forward Engineering Support Team - Advanced (FEST) joined District Tribal Liaison Ron Kneebone in a visit with representatives of two New Mexico Pueblos Dec. 14 and 15. They met with the Pueblo of Santa Clara and the Pueblo de Cochiti to provide the Native American tribes with critically needed engineering support to address local infrastructure issues and to provide FEST members with real-world training.
