Army Corps of Engineers dredging Wicomico River to ensure safe shipping to and from Eastern Shore
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers crews have begun dredging the upper portion of the Wicomico River to ensure vessels can continue safely carrying fuel, materials and agricultural supplies to and from Eastern Shore communities.

$3.2 million contract awarded for miter gate anchorages at Lock 2
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, recently awarded a $3.2 million contract to Kaiyuh Services, LLC, out of Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, to install new miter gate anchorages at Lock and Dam 2, near Hastings, Minnesota.

Moving sand isn’t just for kids
Navigation on the Upper Mississippi River this year has been anything but normal. Historic flooding plagued the region for much of the spring and early summer. The floods brought historic high water and a significant increase in the amount of sediment. The high water has since receded leaving sediment as the sole souvenir of the 2019 flood.
