    KANSAS CITY, Mo. —The ‘dog days of summer’ are upon us and millions of Americans will find refuge from the heat at pools, ponds, lakes, rivers and streams across our nation during the Independence Day weekend.   • Outlet Park Beach reopened at Melvern Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Melvern Lake announce the reopening of Outlet Park Beach due to testing which cleared the body of water from elevated levels of E. coli bacteria. The beach has reopened as E. coli measurements have returned to safe levels. The beach is open as of July 2, 2019.
