  • Reservoir drawdowns, dam construction impact McKenzie River recreation

    Increased water releases from Cougar and Blue River dams will limit access to some recreation opportunities in those areas. The McKenzie River will also have higher than normal flows as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reduces reservoir levels behind the dams to support maintenance and rehabilitation of the structures’ spillway gates.
  • Update: Corps advises public of Berlin Lake’s Mill Creek Campground reopens with limitations

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is alerting campers that the Mill Creek Campground at Berlin Lake will partially re-open effective July 20 at 12 p.m., and will remain open through September 6.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announce closure of fishing pier at Navarro Mills Lake

    FORT WORTH, Texas – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District will begin staging material and equipment behind the dam at Navarro Mills Lake to repair the discharge channel slope and fishing pier approximately July 24. Access to the fishing pier will be temporarily closed while the material and equipment is being delivered. Work on the discharge channel slope will begin on the west side of the discharge channel, therefore the fishing area, which is located on the east side of the discharge channel, will re-open after the material and equipment is delivered.
  • Bingham named Nashville District Employee of the Month for May 2017

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 17, 2017) – Grant Bingham, an electrician at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Cordell Hull Power Plant in Celina, Tenn., is the employee of the month for May 2017.
  • Senior Pass Price Increase

    Beginning August 28, 2017, the price of the Lifetime Senior Pass (currently $10) will increase to $80. A new Annual Senior Pass is also available for $20. Previously purchased lifetime Golden Age or Senior Passes will be honored for the lifetime of the pass holder.
  • Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns

    More public recreation fatalities occur in July than any other month, so the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) asks you to please play it safe while on, in, or near the water because drowning is a leading cause of death this time of year. USACE public recreation fatality statistics show that 88 percent were male, 89 percent were not wearing a life jacket, and 47 percent were swimming in areas not designated as a swimming area.

    Visitors at Corps lakes go boating, fishing, swimming or maybe just relax on the shoreline. All these activities are perfectly fine until one particular thing happens - littering. When this disgraceful activity happens then the good time turns into "trash pickup time."
