    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, will temporarily close or reduce services at multiple recreation areas across Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota and Montana beginning May 1, 2025.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District, will temporarily close Snyder’s Run Boat Launch and the road leading to the top of the Raystown Dam from April 21st, 2025 – April 25th, 2025 to complete road surface repairs and paving work in these recreation areas.
  • Corps seeks comments on Lake Ashtabula water management plan update

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public comments on its Baldhill Dam and Lake Ashtabula water control plan and will hold a public meeting in conjunction with the annual Lake Ashtabula Users Association Meeting on May 14, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club, Valley City, North Dakota.
  • Carlyle Lake Increasing Downstream Releases and Pool Elevation Update

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake will begin increasing water releases from the main dam on Friday, April 11, 2025. Releases will strategically be raised from 5,000 cubic feet of water per second (cfs) to about 10,000 cfs by Sunday, April 13, 2025. Increasing water releases will lower the pool elevation of Carlyle Lake, creating more capacity to store water from future rainfall events.
  • Missouri River upper basin runoff continues below average forecast

    The updated 2025 calendar year runoff forecast for the Missouri River Basin above Sioux City, Iowa, continues to be below average. March runoff in the Missouri River Basin above Sioux City was 2.3 million acre-feet, 76% of average.
  • Temporary Closure of Neal Smith Trail at Saylorville Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will close a portion of the Neal Smith Trail at Saylorville Lake beginning April 17 for trail reconstruction work. The affected section of trail extends from Red Feather Prairie Access North to the Cherry Glen Recreation Area. Work is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete and includes time for the new concrete to properly cure. For public safety, trail users are reminded to stay out of marked construction zones and to observe all posted signage and fencing throughout the project duration.     The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District announces the opening of Gate 28 - High Germany Road from April 26 - May 31, 2025 for spring gobbler season.
  • Carlyle Lake Increasing Downstream Releases and Pool Elevation Update

    In response to current weather conditions and rising water levels, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake will begin increasing water releases from the main dam on Friday, April 4, 2025. Releases will be limited to 5,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) to reduce downstream flooding along the Kaskaskia River and other nearby tributaries.
