    GALVESTON, Texas (July 2, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $6,956,000 to RLB Contracting Inc., for maintenance dredging of the Brownsville Ship Channel and Turning Basin and Port Isabel Channel and Turning Basin in Cameron County, Texas.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 2, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District expects elevated lake levels over the Independence Day weekend at Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. This anticipated rise in lake levels is the result of heavy rainfall in the forecast and the ongoing flooding situation on the lower Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.

  • Chittenden Locks to close 5 hours June 30 for saltwater drain inspection

    SEATTLE – The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Ballard will close to all marine traffic 8 to 11 a.m. for the small locks and an additional two hours, until 1 p.m., June 30 for a monthly saltwater drain screen structure inspection.

  • Walter F. George Lock Closed

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced today that Walter F. George Lock will be closed to all commercial and recreational traffic effective immediately for repairs. The duration of this outage will be determined after an inspection in mid-July, but is expected to last at least through the month of July. The only exception will be for essential transit by U.S. Coast Guard or USACE vessels.
